Acts 20:35
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

Introduction:
The best place for the believers in Christ where to get help is from the sanctuary of the living God. This is asserted by Psalm 20:2, “Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion.” Believers are to watch over one another not only through brotherly love and prayer, but also through aid or support given physically, financially, morally, and more so, spiritually. Such is specifically needed and specially expressed in times of sickness and distress.
In today’s lesson, we will learn how our Church, CBBC-SPL, aids or supports members through our various ministries. Likewise, we will be reminded of our responsibility for each other.
I. We show that we watch for the brethren when we support the program of the Church through our faithfulness in giving.
A. Our tithes for the Lord is the reasonable (acceptable) payment for God’s thoughtfulness to us.
1. “Lamentations 3:22 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
2. “Psalm 68:19 Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.”
3. “Deuteronomy 8:18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.”
4. “Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”
5. When we give our tithes to the Lord through His blessed Church, CBBC-SPL, we are literally supporting the program of our Church.
6. By paying our tithes, we show our support to the Lord’s work, since our tithes simply tells the whole congregation that electric bills, water bills and the general expenses should not be taken for granted.
7. Our tithes communicates to God our willingness to allow His program for this world to continue.
B. Our faith promise giving is the representation (demonstration) of God’s toil for us.
1. Whether we like it or not, and accept it or not, we are all directly or indirectly the sure products of faith promise giving. Somebody has given to the mission work so that souls that are ready to perish might be saved.
2. The support of Octagon Baptist Church paved the way for our Pastor to start a mission work here in San Pedro, Laguna.
3. Let us not forget that our Pastor has been used by God to find and lead us, who were “all like sheep having no shepherd.”
4. We were all sick, destitute and in distress physically, financially and specially spiritually.
5. Praise be to the living God because there were people of God in America who sent missionaries to the Philippines, and we became their spiritual products.
6. Let us continue to support and aid each other by being faithful in our faith promise giving.
C. Our love offering is the realization(accomplishment) of God’s truth through us. 1. The fund that is being collected and then kept safely in the bank is intended for the souls of men.
2. We use this fund for the furtherance of the gospel in our local areas.
3. The money received by the Bible students who use it for transportation during visitation is contributed by generous members.
4. When we give our love offering, we send God’s truth to the dying and lost world.
D. Our first fruit offering is the ratification (approval) of God’s trust to us.
1. The first fruit as we studied through our previous Sunday school lessons is equivalent to the one month-salary God has given to us through our work, business, allowances and profits.
2. Though it seems a big amount which seems hard to give, the truth of the matter is, first fruit giving is God’s approval upon the material blessings we possess.
3. “Deuteronomy 18:4 The firstfruit also of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the first of the fleece of thy sheep, shalt thou give him.”
4. “Proverbs 3:9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:”
5. “Deuteronomy 16:15 Seven days shalt thou keep a solemn feast unto the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD shall choose: because the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thine increase, and in all the works of thine hands, therefore thou shalt surely rejoice.”
6. We always intend to use our first fruit offering for lot acquisitions and building projects. These projects will be a landmark of God’s increase upon us believers and the Church as a whole.
7. Let us not waste God’s trust to us; let us all give our first fruit to the Lord’s work.
E. Our sacrificial offering and other offerings are the reflection (manifestation) of God’s triumph over us.
1. “Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.”
2. “Philippians 2:17 Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.”
3. “Philippians 4:18 But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.”
4. The greatest enemy of the believers specially in the matter of giving is his/her own self.
5. Our sacrificial giving is really the victory of God upon our lives as believers.
6. If we Christians do not sacrifice, God is not yet winning in our lives.

Sacrifice: IT PAYS TO HONOR GOD
A poor widow, who made her living by doing washings, had two wayward sons. This poor woman heard of a mission, where souls were saved, which was about to be closed for lack of funds. The amount necessary was about $500.00. She was greatly interested and longed for that amount of money, stating she would gladly give it if she had it. Soon, strange to say, a message came from a lawyer in a distant city stating that a relative of hers had died and willed her the inclosed $500.00. She was very happy and felt the Lord had sent it in for the mission. The neighbors insisted that she could not afford to be so liberal, but she sent the money on to the mission. Soon a letter came from the older of older wicked sons, reading about as follows: "Dear Mother: Brother and I are here in the Church. We were passing down the street and heard singing in a mission. We went in, and both of us were saved. We will soon be home to take care of you." They came and cared for their mother, and lived for the Lord. Yes, it pays to honor God. He says, "Them that honor me I will honor," and He always makes good His promises.

II. We show that we watch for the brethren when we sustain the progress of the Church through
our fruitfulness in growing.
A. Believers in Christ must grow spiritually.
1. It is God’s will and intention for every believer to grow spiritually. That is the reason why He has given us a pastor that does his God-given job and office. “Jeremiah 3:15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
2. “2Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”
3. It is in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ that we can all grow.
4. Praise God, for in our Church, we have all the right and privilege to grow.
B. Believers in Christ can grow spiritually by attending all Church services.
1. “Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
2. “Ephesians 3:10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God.”
3. Aside from the Bible, the Church of the living God is the only source of truth for the believers as stated in 1Timothy 3:15.
4. Let us all grow together through the preaching and teaching we hear from the blessed pulpit.
5. CBBC-SPL pulpit is God’s place to help, support and aid the sick and the distressed.
6. We thank God for our Radio Program that extends the ministry of encouragement through the pulpit even to the homes of the sick brethren.
C. Believers in Christ will grow fast spiritually through the discipleship program of our Church.
1. Physical sickness and the likes are manifestations of spiritual sickness, though not applicable all the time.
2. As such, we need to grow spiritually so that sicknesses and distresses could be minimized, if not eradicated. Prevention is always better than cure.
3. Growing fast through our discipleship program will widen our knowledge in the word of God and eventually will give us a vast avenue of opportunities to work out the lessons we have learned.
III. We show that we watch for the brethren when we stand for the purpose of the Church through our fearlessness in going.
“Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.”
“Acts 5:42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.”
Boldness is what the believers need in order for them to preach with out fear the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
A. Soulwinning is proclaiming Christ’s love to the sick and the distressed.
1. We as believers know that this whole world lies in wickedness and that includes our loved ones.
2. When we involve in soulwinning, we are being kind and loving not only to the lost, but to the brethren whose relatives are still lost.
3. Praise God for the cumulative efforts of our 36 areas that win the lost including our loved ones who may be residing in those 36 different areas with or without our knowledge.
4. So in reality, when a believer does not win souls for Christ, he/she is not only unconcerned with the lost souls, but he/she is also unconcerned with his/her brethren.
B. Soulwinning is protecting our brethren from a greater harm (sickness and being in distress).
1. Through going fearlessly, we in return are protecting the brethren from greater harm.
2. “James 5:20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins;” and “1Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.”
3. Whenever we won souls for Christ, specially our brethren’s relatives, we hide multitude of sins being committed by those families. Sins always correspond to distress and most of the time sickness. Soulwinners are literally being used by God as antidotes to this sin-stricken world.
4. Let us all boldly proclaim Christ’s love and salvation to this dying world.
5. Let us involve in the soulwinning program of our Church.
Conclusion:
Let us all watch one another by supporting and aiding each other through our blessed Church, CBBC-SPL!
